Block of The Month Projects
Beginning in Jan. 2012, we will be featuring a new block of the month program featuring Marcus Fabrics' Civil War Journals. The fabric is designed by Judie Rothermel and the patterns are by Homestead Hearth.
This project is unique because you have a choice as to which quilt you want to make. You can finish your blocks every two months and make a smaller quilt during the third month of the quarter. Or you can save all the blocks and make a queen sized quilt at the end of the year. The queen sized quilt can be pieced through out the year because each months blocks build on the previous blocks.
The smaller quilts range in size from 44"x 44" to 51"x 60" and the queen sized quilt measures 84"x 102".
This program runs January through December and you must sign up for the complete program. Wide quilt backs will also be available to match your quilt.
The cost is $29.99 per month. There is no charge for month 3, 6, 9 and 12! That's when you get to catch up or make your quilts. There is a $20 sign up fee to cover the costs of printing the patterns and miscellaneous items.
I only purchased enough for 15 people and there are several signed up now. If you want to sign up, please feel free to call the shop and I will add your name to the list.
I will also ship the monthly kits to my out of town customers! Just pay the appropriate shipping costs.
Beginning in February, Marcus Fabrics has another block of the month called "Amish With a Twist". It is beginner friendly and uses beautiful solid colors. This program will run 6 months long. This quilt measures 88 3/8"x 105 1/2"- a nice size queen quilt. Kits will be available for sale online in February. JUST IN- THE BOAT FROM CHINA BROKE DOWN WITH THE FABRIC! THEY HAD TO TOW THE BOAT BACK FOR REPAIRS WHEN IT WAS HALF WAY HERE. KIT WILL PROBABY BE AVAILABLE IN MARCH.
